Speech & Language Pathologist
I’ve been a part of HAMSA for the past one year, and it’s honestly been a wonderful experience. I came out fresh from college, excited and full of energy, but the number of things I learned in this one year is way more than what I had learned in those 4 years. I got to explore a lot in the field of neurological speech language pathology with the help of a plethora of cases I attended. I’m extremely grateful to Dr. Balamurali, who provided me with this opportunity and took me in as a full time employee at HAMSA. He is a great mentor, who offers guidance whenever we need it. But at the same time, he gives you the freedom to practice and learn things on your own too. He’s constantly bustling with ideas and always strives to keep giving back to the society in one way or the other. I hope that one day, I will also be able to give something back to society just like how he does it.
When I joined HAMSA Rehab, I was given a warm welcome by the vibrant admin team at the rehab center.I was the only speech language pathologist there at the time. The multidisciplinary professionals here at HAMSA are a delight to work with. The team of therapists makes you feel like you’re at home. Be it the team discussions regarding patients, presentations or academic sessions, they’ve all given me equal opportunity to voice my views and contribute to the best. I’ve had a variety of learning experiences right from hosting webinars, educating the other professionals about my field through academic sessions, planning my patient schedule, and, Oh! Getting my broken hand treated for free!
Wherever I go, HAMSA is always going to be very special as it was my first work experience. Now, as I look back, I don’t think I would have wanted to have it any other way. I cherish all those times that I’ve had with my patients, my colleagues and my superiors. Thank you to whoever has been a part of this journey. When I do come back, I’m sure that HAMSA would have grown to much greater heights and I’d definitely love to be a part of it!
